The Curse of Bridge Hollow 2 updates: Will there be a sequel to the Netflix movie?

Move over, Hubie Halloween! There’s a new movie set during the spooky holiday coming to Netflix, and it’s sure to be one of the best Halloween movies on Netflix this year. The Curse of Bridge Hollow stars Marlon Wayans and Stranger Things favorite Priah Ferguson. The new movie makes its premiere on Friday, Oct. 14.

Wayans and Ferguson star as a father and daughter duo who come together to save their town when an ancient spirit conspires to bring all of the Halloween decorations to life. Naturally, these decorations cause chaos and horror, but it’s up to them to put an end to the terror. The movie also stars Kelly Rowland, Lauren Lapkus, John Michael Higgins, Rob Riggle, and Nia Vardalos in supporting roles.

The Curse of Bridge Hollow seems primed to be a huge family movie hit for Halloween, following in the footsteps of the aforementioned Hubie Halloween. But will there be a sequel coming in the future? Here’s what next Halloween could hold for the hit-in-the-making.

Is The Curse of Bridge Hollow sequel happening?

As of the film’s release in October 2022, there aren’t any concrete plans as outlined by Netflix that a sequel to The Curse of Bridge Hollow in the works. However, based on its viewership performance and reception from fans, a follow-up could be in the future.

In the past, and as recently as this year, Netflix has made a habit of turning its highest performing movies into franchises. Enola Holmes 2, Extraction 2, and The Old Guard 2 are all on the way (among others), and 2022’s breakout hit The Gray Man has already been greenlit for a sequel and spin-off.

While Netflix has seen a number of franchises in the holiday space, namely for The Princess Switch and A Christmas Prince trilogies, Halloween-centered movies haven’t had sequels. Netflix’s biggest original Halloween movie, Adam Sandler’s Hubie Halloween, has yet to have a sequel commissioned in spite of demand from fans. Still, keep your fingers crossed for The Curse of Bridge Hollow 2.
