Rebelde is basically the Spanish Glee. It’s a continuation of the popular 2004 Mexican telenovela titled the same name by Pedro Damián. The first season premiered on Netflix on Jan. 5, and just days later, the show was renewed for a second season. There were rumors that the second season had already been filmed and that it will arrive on Netflix by the end of 2022. Those rumors were correct because Rebelde season 2 was released on July 27, 2022.

Rebelde follows the lives of a group of students attending the prestigious Elite Way School as they chase their dreams of being aspiring musicians. Although they’re all very different, the students of EWS come together to form a band hoping to win the Battle of the Bands and become musical stars. But a familiar threat called The Lodge tries to stop the students from reaching their full potential.

There’s a lot of singing, and the songs are very catchy in the series. The characters are likable, and the chemistry is off the charts. However, like every show, Rebelde has its faults. But overall, it’s a fun and quick watch.
