It’s the time of year for horror movies, and this year is not going to disappoint. Things are kicking off well with My Best Friend’s Exorcism, an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Grady Hendrix.

The year is 1988, and Abby and Gretchen are going into their sophomore year of high school. They have been best friends since the fourth grade, and nothing is going to tear them apart. That is, nothing natural is going to tear them apart.

After a night of skinny dipping, Gretchen starts to act moody and weird. Abby knows immediately that something serious is happening. Can friendship stop the devil? That’s what she needs to figure out.

Is My Best Friend’s Exorcism on Netflix?

Elsie Fisher and Amiah Miller star in this horror movie, but you won’t be able to use your Netflix subscription to watch it. The movie is on Prime Video instead.

It is an Amazon Original Movie, which means it’s not going to leave Prime Video. Something drastic has to happen for Prime Video to shut down, especially with the success of Lord of the Rings. So, we probably won’t ever see the movie head to Netflix.

It is going to be worth the watch, though. The story is a great coming-of-age story with some supernatural elements mixed in. If you’ve read the novel, you’ll certainly want to see how things are adapted as the trailer suggests there are some major changes to come.
