Nick Prugo and Alexis Neiers became infamous for their involvement in a string of high-profile crimes executed in Calabasas, California from 2008 to 2009. Members of the “Bling Ring,” Nick and Alexis participated in a string of robberies, burglarizing everyone from Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan to Rachel Bilson and Orlando Bloom. Now Alexis and Nick take center stage once again in the Channel 4 and Netflix docuseries The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist.
The three-part documentary series debuted earlier this year on Channel 4, but now it’s available worldwide via Netflix. Watching the docuseries provides more insight into how Nick and Alexi grew up and what eventually motivated them to participate in a life of crime.
Prugo, in particular, is often considered the group’s ringleader along with Rachel Lee. Prugo was sentenced when he was 18, but the Bling Ring robberies were just the start of his criminal past.
Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist: Did Nick Prugo go to jail?
Prugo pled no contest to burglarizing Audrina Patridge and Lindsay Lohan. In 2013, he was sentenced to two years in prison. He ended up only spending a year behind bars because, by the time he was sentenced, he had a year credited for time served and good behavior.
But then in 2014, less than a year after being released, Prugo was arrested for reportedly violating his parole. According to the TMZ report from the time, skin specialist to the stars Dawn DaLuise, supposedly name-dropped Prugo after she was arrested “for allegedly attempting to hire a member of the Detroit Lions to kill the owner of a rival skin shop.”
Dawn told police that Prugo had violated his parole by traveling out of state without permission. At the time, he was roommates with Edward Feinstein, who DaLuise says was harassing her online and doctoring fake personal ads.
Fast-forward to 2016, when Prugo and Feinstein both pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of stalking DaLuise. They were also accused of using fake online personal ads to encourage men to rape DaLuise but those charges were dropped by the judge. Prugo received 350 hours of community service and three years probation.
Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist: Where is Nick Prugo now?
According to The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist, Prugo is now happily married to his husband of five years. He is currently applying for a certificate of rehabilitation and a Governor’s pardon. He and his husband run an online business together.
The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist is now streaming on Netflix.
