Is American Gigolo starring Jon Bernthal on Netflix?

Jon Bernthal’s latest series is the crime drama American Gigolo based on the 1980s film of the same name that starred Richard Gere, Lauren Hutton, and Hector Elizondo. The new version tries to take the male escort out of the 80s.

Besides Bernthal, the series stars Gretchen Mol, Lizzie Brocheré, Gabriel Labelle, Leland Orser, Alex Fernandez, Mark Mahoney,  Wayne Brady, and Rosie O’Donnell.

The series follows Bernthal’s character Julian Kaye who was wrongfully convicted and sent to prison for 15 years. Now that he’s out, he tries to figure out what the modern world looks like in Los Angeles. He also has to find his way in the sex industry and deal with the complicated relationships he left behind when he went to jail.

Is American Gigolo on Netflix?

Unfortunately, American Gigolo is not streaming on Netflix, and likely won’t be coming to Netflix after it airs. The eight-episode series will be airing on a premium cable channel and a few different streaming services, but Netflix isn’t one of them.

Shows and movies like American Gigolo on Netflix include Diary of a Gigolo, Sex/Life, Toy Boy, and High Heat.

Where to watch American Gigolo

Episodes of American Gigolo will be on Showtime every Friday starting Sept 9, 2022, at 9:00 p.m. ET/8:00 p.m. CT. The episodes will then be streaming on Showtime’s app, or you can stream them if you have Paramount+ with Showtime. Amazon Prime also has a Showtime channel, so if you subscribe to that, you can also check it out there.
