As summer comes to a close, Netflix is slowly easing us into the best time of the year (a.k.a. autumn and spooky season) with the release of a new tantalizing TV thriller series. Netflix series Echoes stars Mission Impossible actress Michelle Monaghan in a meaty role that tasks her with playing identical twin sisters.

Monaghan is joined by a talented cast that includes Matt Bomer, Daniel Sunjata, Karen Robinson, Ali Stroker, Michael O’Neill and more. Echoes centers on the story of Leni and Gina McCleary. Gina is an established author in Los Angeles, married to a therapist (Sunjata) while Leni lives in their hometown of Mt. Echo on a horse farm with her husband (Bomer) and daughter.

Since they were kids, Leni and Gina have been swapping lives, usually for fun, sometimes to avoid trouble. As twins, they share everything and even develop their own secret language. That “two as one” philosophy extends to adulthood, where they now share husbands and technically, even a daughter.

But when one sister goes missing, it threatens to unravel every lie and mystery they’ve ever told.
