What is Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx about?

Enjoy some good, old-fashioned vampire fun in Netflix’s latest action-packed vampire horror movie Day Shift, starring Jamie Foxx and Snoop Dogg as vampire hunters. The new movie sinks its teeth into Netflix this Friday, August 12.

Foxx stars as Bud Jablonski, a blue-collar dad who just wants to provide for his family. While he might work as a pool cleaner during the day, by night Bud is part of an international union of vampire hunters.

If you’ve watched the trailer, you’ll also notice that the JJ Perry-directed movie comes from the guys who “taught John Wick how to kick ass,” so we’re in good hands here. There is all sorts of fun to be had with this film, from garlic grenades to unique ways to use pool cleaning tools.

What is Day Shift about?

Day Shift is an urban fantasy, action-comedy flick that leans into vampire-hunting horror. Foxx’s character is no longer part of the hunter’s union after his penchant for making his own rules got him cast out.

Now a freelancer, he’s struggling to make ends meet and when his ex suggests he come up with money for their daughter’s tuition, it becomes more essential than ever that Bud find a way to drum up more cash quickly.

He’ll need to get back into the union so he can go after the prestigious vampire bounties that come with much better rewards… and risks. Luckily his longtime friend Big John Elliott (Snoop Dogg) is willing to offer some advice and put in a good word. Dave Franco rounds out the main cast as Seth, a by-the-books union member who is tasked with keeping Bud on the straight and narrow, which I’m sure will be easier said than done.

The movie runs 1 hour and 53 minutes, so just shy of two hours it should keep us entertained from start to finish.
