A new Netflix original romantic comedy film has arrived to heat up the dog days of summer, and viewers are going to fall head over heels for Wedding Season. Although the movie tells a familiar story of an unlikely relationship, it’s one of the best movies on Netflix this month.

Wedding Season stars Pallavi Sharda as Asha, who’s career-focused mindset interrupts her parents’ vision of finding her a suitable husband. Fed up with being set up and pestered during a string of weddings, Asha pretends to date Ravi (Suraj Sharma) to their parents off their backs.

Of course, we have seen the fake dating trope in a number of romantic comedies, and viewers will know that sparks will eventually fly between the seemingly mismatched pair. But does the couple explore those sparks and end up together, or are they destined for other people?

Let’s dive into what happens for Asha and Ravi at the end of Wedding Season and answer the biggest question surrounding their relationship. Warning: Spoilers ahead from the movie!

Do Asha and Ravi end up together in Wedding Season?

Throughout Wedding Season, Asha and Ravi have multiple ups and downs. Their first date doesn’t go smoothly, and their resolve to pretend dating each other to make it through the overwhelming number of weddings they have to attend keeps them at arm’s length.

Obviously, as they continue their ruse, Asha and Ravi keep getting closer until they actually start dating for real. Like any couple, they open up to each other and get vulnerable, sharing things they you don’t just share with any old person that you don’t have feelings for.

However, when Asha receives a major career opportunity in London, the reveal to her parents causes yet another wrinkle. They assumed she and Ravi were getting engaged, as did Ravi’s parents, and even more pressure gets pushed on the couple.

The truth comes out that Ravi helped fund Asha’s grant, and she doesn’t react well to finding out she didn’t earn it on her own. Ravi tells her that he’s in love with her, but she walks away from him. She later sees him on a date with another woman (who wasn’t a date but his cousin!) and interrupts to apologize to him and thank him for going along with her scheme.

During her sister Priya’s wedding reception, Ravi appears as the DJ and, in an odd turn of romantic comedy events, grabs the mic to both explain himself and propose a grand romantic gesture for Asha — though not an engagement. Finally, they put the past aside and get together for good and dance the night away at the wedding.
