Neil Patrick Harris is back in the Netflix original comedy series Uncoupled as Michael, who’s back to the single life after being dumped by his boyfriend of 17 years. Ouch!

Throughout the first season of the series, Michael tries to make sense of being single for the first time in nearly two decades and what went wrong with his relationship. Part of searching for that closure is finding himself as a 40-something in the New York City dating scene.

Uncoupled ends its eight-episode season with two major cliffhangers, one of which could possibly put Michael’s romantic future back at square one. The other cliffhanger revolves around Suzanne (Tisha Campbell) and the father of her son. Who could he be?!

Warning: Spoilers ahead from the season finale of Uncoupled.

Will Michael and Colin get back together in Uncoupled?

In the season finale of Uncoupled, Michael and his friends attend the Jonathans’ wedding, where Michael and Colin come face to face for the first time since their encounter at his parents’ house. Although it’s unavoidably tense, the exes have a dance together and seem to squash their issues.

The wedding gives Michael a new since of closure and acceptance of the circumstance surrounding his breakup with Colin. However, when he returns home from the wedding, he’s startled by an unannounced houseguest: Colin.

Back in the home he shared with Michael, Colin reappears and tells Michael that he made a mistake by leaving him. The shock on Michael’s face says it all as he takes in the realization that Colin wants him back. It’s all he wanted at first, but now too much has happened.

It’s unclear how Michael will respond to Colin’s admission, but we can’t imagine that he would be eager to take back the man who shattered his heart into a million pieces and didn’t stick around to tell him why. While we could see Michael and Colin giving it another chance, right now doesn’t seem like the right time to get back together.

Who is Kai’s father in Uncoupled?

Early on in Uncoupled, Suzanne states that Kai’s father was one of three men she met while backpacking through Europe. (Claire, played by Marcia Gay Harden, quips that her life is like Mamma Mia!)

By the end of the season, Suzanne learns that Kai has found his father through a DNA testing service and plans to meet up with him at a restaurant. She’s taken aback by her son meeting his father since it’s only ever been the two of them, but she’s relieved when he opts not to go through with the meeting.

Following the wedding, Suzanne decides to stop by the restaurant Kai planned to meet his father and peeks through the window. She’s surprised by who she sees, but here’s the kicker: We don’t get to see who he is! Could he be someone we know?

Either Kai’s father is actually someone Suzanne met while backpacking overseas, or it’s someone she didn’t realize could be the father. What if Kai’s father is Colin or Billy or the bisexual Italian businessman Michael slept with?! We need an answer to the cliffhanger!

Do you think Michael and Colin should get back together? Who do you think could be Kai’s father? Sound off in the comments, and keep your fingers crossed for Uncoupled season 2 on Netflix!
