What is The Gray Man about?

Here is all the classified intelligence fans need to know about the exciting plot for the highly anticipated film, The Gray Man on Netflix.

Everyone knows that Netflix is pretty good at making incredibly entertaining action flicks that get tons of views from subscribers. Some of these high-octane titles ready to stream now include 6 Underground, The Old Guard, Extraction and Red Notice, among several others.

While all of the titles mentioned above have all had very robust production budgets, The Gray Man looks to have a hefty price tag as well, coming in with a massive $200 million budget. It seems really safe to say not only does Netflix mean business with this property, but also that they are very confident in its ability to hopefully give them a next-level franchise on par with Mission Impossible, Jason Bourne, or James Bond.

The streamer has even brought in some huge names to bring this ambitious project to life, including the directors of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame and Avengers: Infinity War, The Russo Brothers. In front of the cameras, the exemplary star-studded cast for The Gray Man features Ryan Gosling, Chris Evans, Ana de Armas, Jessica Henwick, Rege-Jean Page, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Dhanush, Alfre Woodard and Billy Bob Thornton.

The Gray Man synopsis

The Gray Man is actually based on the 2009 novel with the same title written by author Mark Greaney. Gosling plays the titular character, a CIA operative who also goes by the designation Sierra Six, a former ex-agent prisoner now re-recruited to be an operative with a CIA-sanctioned license to kill.

But things go sideways, and the hunter becomes the hunted as an outside hire from the CIA closes in on ending Six’s life. Evans’ Lloyd Hansen will do whatever it takes to ensure Six ends up in a body bag. Two murder-happy spies enter, and only one will leave alive. Fans will have to watch The Gray Man to find out who wins.

Plucked from a federal penitentiary and recruited by his handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton), Gentry was once a highly-skilled, Agency-sanctioned merchant of death. But now the tables have turned and Six is the target, hunted across the globe by Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former cohort at the CIA, who will stop at nothing to take him out. Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas) has his back. He’ll need it."
