Virgin River has returned on Netflix with an all-new season! Picking up after the shocking conclusion of season 3, Virgin River season 4 just might be the best season yet.
Of course, we’ll see all of our favorite characters and cast members back in action with all kinds of small town drama. Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson are once again at the center of the Netflix original drama series as Mel and Jack, with a host of lovable Virgin River locals.

Alexandra Breckenridge as Mel Monroe
Alexandra Breckenridge was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on May 15, 1982, making the accomplished actress 40 years old as of Virgin River season 4’s release in July 2022. She’s married to Casey Hooper, a guitarist for Katy Perry, and they have two children.
Where have you seen her before? Breckenridge has appeared in a number of popular films and television series. Most fans will recognize her as Monique from the 2006 comedy She’s the Man starring Amanda Bynes. She’s also had roles in the television shows Dirt, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, and This Is Us. She reprised her role as Sophie in the final season of This Is Us in a pivotal storyline for Justin Hartley’s character Kevin.

Martin Henderson as Jack Sheridan
Martin Henderson was born in Auckland, New Zealand on Oct. 8, 1974, making the actor 47 years old at the time of season 4’s release.
Where have you seen him before? Henderson has appeared in many hit movies and series over the years, and it’s certain you have come across him before. He appeared in the Australian series Big Sky from 1997 to 1999, the short-lived ABC series Off the Map in 2011, and two seasons of Grey’s Anatomy as a main cast member.

Tim Matheson as Vernon “Doc” Mullins
Tim Matheson was born in Glendale, California on Dec. 31, 1947, making the actor 74 years old as of season 4’s release. He became an actor at age 13 with his first role in 1961 and served in the United States Marine Corps Reserve. Matheson has been married three times, marrying Elizabeth Marighetto in 2018, and has three children.
Where have you seen him before? Tim Matheson has had an extensive and impressive career in film and television. Some of his best-known titles include Johnny Quest, Animal House, and The West Wing, which earned him two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series. He also appeared in the original Yours, Mine and Ours with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda.
Prior to Virgin River, Matheson starred in The CW comedy-drama series Hart of Dixie from 2011 to 2015. He played Dr. Brick Breeland, who was a lot like Doc Mullins. The series also took place in a quirky small town and was a feel-good show with a loyal following.

Annette O’Toole as Hope McCrea
Annette O’Toole was born in Houston, Texas on April 1, 1952, which makes the actress 70 years old as of the fourth season. O’Toole was married to actor Bill Geisslinger for 10 years, and together they share two daughters. She’s currently married to actor Michael McKean.
Where have you seen her before? If you’re a Smallville fan, then you have definitely seen Annette O’Toole on your screen before. She played Clark Kent’s mother Martha on The WB/CW series for its first six seasons. She has also appeared in such titles as Nash Bridges, It, Superman III, Cross My Heart, and The Kennedys of Massachusetts, which earned her an Emmy nomination.

Colin Lawrence as John “Preacher” Middleton
Colin Lawrence was born in London, England, but the actor was raised in Canada. He’s been married to actress Lucia Walters since 1999, and the married couple actually had the opportunity to share the screen together in Virgin River season 4 as Walters played Preacher’s new love interest, Julia.
Where have you seen him before? Prior to his starring role in Virgin River, Lawrence has been appearing in movies and on television since 1995. He has been in episodes of shows like The X-Files, Stargate SG-1, The L Word, Smallville, Battlestar Galactica, Supernatural, The Killing, iZombie, Riverdale, and so many more.

Lauren Hammersley as Charmaine Roberts
Lauren Hammersley hails from Campbell River, British Columbia in Canada and was later raised in Surrey, British Columbia before moving to Toronto. The Charmaine actress began her acting career at the age of 12.
Where have you seen her before? Compared to her other Virgin River co-stars, Lauren Hammersley doesn’t have as many acting credits. She starred in the 2006 horror movie Bloody Mary and the Canadian television series Mr. D from 2012 to 2018. Hammersley also had a two-season recurring role on Orphan Black as Adele in 2016 and 2017 before Virgin River.

Benjamin Hollingsworth as Dan Brady
Benjamin Hollingsworth was born in Brockville, Ontario, Canada on Sept. 7, 1984, making the actor 37 years old as of season 4’s release. He has been married to designer and fitness instructor Nila Myers since 2012, and they share two sons and a daughter.
Where have you seen him before? The Canadian actor has kept busy in movies and television since his debut in 2003. He has appeared in episodes of popular shows such as Heartland, Degrassi: The Next Generation, The Beautiful Life, Suits, The Tomorrow People, and Nancy Drew. Hollingsworth has starred in multiple Hallmark movies and was a lead in the CBS medical drama Code Black.

Sarah Dugdale as Lizzie
Sarah Dugdale hails from Canada and was born on June 21, 1995, making the actress 27 years old at the time of Virgin River season 4’s release.
Where have you seen her before? Dugdale got her start as an actress in 2011 with small roles in TV shows and movies. While Virgin River was essentially her breakout role, Dugale also starred in the Netflix horror movie There’s Someone Inside Your House and the Lifetime movie Death of a Cheerleader.

Zibby Allen as Brie Sheridan
Zibby Allen, who plays Jack’s sister Brie, comes from San Fransisco, California and was born on Sept. 29, 1980, making the actress 41 years old as of the fourth season’s release.
Where have you seen her before? Allen has appeared in a number of television series, and some fans will recognize her as a nurse in Grey’s Anatomy. She appeared in a recurring role from 2006 to 2012. Other television credits include A.N.T. Farm, Bates Motel, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Flash, and Nancy Drew.

Kai Bradbury as Denny Cutler
Kai Bradbury, who plays Doc’s long-lost grandson Denny Cutler, was born in Vancouver, British Columbia on Jan. 9, 1994, making the Canadian actor 28 years old as of July 2022.
Where have you seen him before? Although he’s new to Virgin River and received his first acting credit in 2016, Kai Bradbury has made quite the name for himself. He’s also appeared in shows such as The Boys, Family Law, and Warigami. Prior to his role in the hit Netflix original, Bradbury starred in Freeform’s Motherland: Fort Salem as Gerit.
