We left off in season 3 finding out Mel is pregnant (yay!). But what’s the catch? She doesn’t know if the father is Jack or her deceased husband Mark. While visiting her sister in LA, Mel decided to use the embryos she shared with her late husband. And the IVF worked. But now, she’s uncertain who the biological father is.

Also since she used two embryos, it it possible the mother to be will be expecting more than one little one? According to the Netflix synopsis, Jack is supportive and excited but we’re going to see that the question of paternity continues to gnaw at him.

The answer to that question is no! Those Virgin River writers decided to come up with this storyline all on their own. They didn’t have work around the actress being pregnant in real life. This season is going to be so emotionally draining!

Breckenridge is married to guitarist Casey Hooper. The two exchanged vows in September 2015. They had their first child, a son, in September 2016, and a daughter in December 2017. So it’s been years since the actress was pregnant. Even filming for the series’ first season started in December 2018, which was after she had her second child.
