In case you didn’t catch it, the number on the Surfer Boy Pizza Van is 805-457-PIZZA, or 805-457-4992. And when you dial those numbers in and call the number, it’s Argyle himself who’s on the other line!

You can’t converse with him, it’s just a recording. But it’s still a really neat way of being interactive with fans! I’m sure the series knew eagle-eyed fans would spot the number and would try to give it a call. So they turned it into a small, fun experience!

So when you get the pizza place on the other end, Argyle greets you but then has to put you on hold. But you still hear all that he has to say. And it’s a very interesting order. Here’s the about minute-long message:

"Surfs up! Surfer Boy Pizza, this is Argyle speaking. We make everything fresh here at Surfer Boy, except for our pineapple which comes from a can. So don’t go over. And next they want, and this is really important, four chops of white mozzarella, three habaneros nice and bright orange, two green pepper slices, gotta let the habanero sing man. And then one, just one, piece of blue cheese on top. Now I know it’s strange. Blue cheese is damn near mold. But hey, have you tried it? Try before you deny bro. Ok that’s all I got. Did you get the order? Yeah, cool.Ok, sorry brochaco thanks for waiting."

After that the call ends. So it’s a short and sweet way for fans of the science fiction show to feel like they’re a part of it in a small way.
