Bethany Hamilton was involved in a gruesome shark attack that ended up resulting in her losing her left arm, a result that would end anyone’s run as a professional in the world of surfing.

But Hamilton did not let that stop her, and she overcame the odds in brilliant fashion to return to the sport she loves and compete like a champion. The film ended up being a big success taking in $47 million at the box office against a budget of $18 million.
