JoAnna Garcia Swisher shares an exciting Sweet Magnolias season 3 update

Are you ready to hear some good news about Sweet Magnolias season 3? Well, one of the show’s leading stars JoAnna Garcia Swisher might have just hinted at production officially starting on the third season!

We’re not really surprised that filming is about to start or has already begun because there had been reports that principal photography for season 3 would commence sometime this summer. Obviously, summer starts on June 21 and ends on Sept. 23, so we at least had an idea of when filming could possibly begin. However, we hadn’t seen any of the cast or crew post about production starting on their social media accounts, so we assumed the show was still in pre-production.

On June 14, showrunner Sheryl J. Anderson gave an update on where the show was in the filmmaking process. She posted a photo on her Instagram page of the Sweet Magnolias crew location scouting for season 3. This confirmed that the show was still in the pre-production phase.

Now it looks like the cast and crew are either getting ready to start shooting for Sweet Magnolias season 3 or has already started, according to Sweet Magnolias star JoAnna Garcia Swisher.

Is Sweet Magnolias season 3 filming?

On July 1, JoAnna Garcia Swisher posted a photo of herself with her Sweet Magnolias character signature hairstyle on Instagram. The caption reads, “Maddie’s’ lob is back. Could only mean one thing… #sweetmagnoliasnetflix #season3.”

Although JoAnna doesn’t exactly come out and say that production for Sweet Magnolias season 3 has started, it’s pretty obvious that it has. What a way to get the fans hyped about season 3!

So now that filming is underway, when can we expect the third season to make its way to Netflix? We shared release updates for Sweet Magnolias season 3 below.

Sweet Magnolias season 3 release updates

The third season doesn’t have a release date yet. Since filming just started, we’re not expecting Netflix to announce a release date any time soon. However, we’re probably looking at three months of production and then seven months of post-production before the third season lands on Netflix.

If filming started in July, three months later would be October. As soon as production wraps in October, the show should immediately enter post-production, where it’s expected to remain for seven months. This would put the release date sometime in May 2023.

Keep in mind that this is only our release date prediction. Sweet Magnolias season 3 could come earlier or later than what we predicted. We’ll just have to wait and see how everything goes in the filmmaking process.
