The Man from Toronto 2 updates: Will there be a sequel?

The Man from Toronto is a fast-paced and hilarious new action movie starring Kevin Hart and Woody Harrelson that just debuted on Netflix today, June 24, 2022. Will Netflix make The Man from Toronto 2?

Hart plays Teddy, an average New York City guy who has a penchant for messing things up. To the point his wife and friends have started joking about his habit of “Teddy-ing” things up.

Striving to pull off an amazing birthday celebration for his wife, Teddy books an Airbnb for her. Unfortunately, while there, a case of mistaken identity leads to Teddy crossing paths with the dangerous killer, “The Man from Toronto,” played by Harrelson. As you might expect, antics and hijinks ensue.

The organization that The Man from Toronto works for has other assassins from all over the world that could certainly be explored in another movie. Does Netflix have plans for a sequel?

The Man from Toronto 2 updates: Will there be a sequel?

Netflix has not officially greenlit The Man from Toronto 2, but given how popular its stars are, it’s hard to imagine that the movie would fail to be successful on the streaming service.

When Netflix Life spoke to director Patrick Hughes, he certainly seemed open to the possibility of making additional movies in this universe. What if we got a movie following The Man from Tokyo or The Man from Miami? Or surely it would be fun to see Teddy and The Man from Toronto team up again?

For now, we don’t have any confirmation of plans for a follow-up, but Hughes did make a sequel to The Hitman’s Bodyguard and Netflix has been known to make sequels to its successful action movies: see Red Notice and Extraction.
