Blonde, the upcoming Netflix biopic depicting the life of American icon Marilyn Monroe, has officially dropped a new trailer, and boy, does Ana de Armas shine.

The Knives Out actress will play none other than Monroe in the upcoming title. Initially, audiences had reservations about the casting. More specifically, they believed the role should be played by someone who bore more of a resemblance to the late celebrity. However, upon seeing this brand-new trailer, it’s safe to say these worries are now dispensable because de Armas not only looks stunning in the teaser but also proved she’s able to emulate Monroe beyond appearances.

All we can say is you absolutely have to see this trailer for yourself. Check it out!

Marilyn Monroe’s rendition of “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend” playing wistfully in the background complements the shaky feelings felt by Ana de Armas’ character in a way that sends shivers down our spines. And who could forget the underlying haunting emotions in the words “she’s coming” and “she’s here.”?

By the looks of the film so far, Blonde very may well be yet another Netflix film that gains the recognition of the Academy and other prominent award ceremonies. Perhaps you’ll feel the same.

Again, if the trailer is only a testament to the film’s aesthetic, theme, style, and story, then we’re certainly in for a great watch. But did we really expect anything less from Ana de Armas, Adrien Brody, Killing Them Softly‘s Andrew Dominik, and all the other talented cast and crew featured in this title?

Trust us, you’re not going to want to miss a single second of what’s on the way, so be sure to stream Blonde on Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2022, only on Netflix.
