God’s Favorite Idiot soundtrack: Music by episode
By Mads Lennon
I don’t know about you, but one of my favorite things to do while I’m watching a new movie or show is hit the Shazam button to see what songs the creators chose to play within the story. God’s Favorite Idiot takes things to another level with songs occasionally part of the actual scene, playing over the radio in-universe and heard by characters rather than just as part of the audience background.
The new comedy series starring real-life married couple and talented actors Ben Falcone and Melissa McCarthy is now available on Netflix. It follows a mid-level tech employee who becomes part of God’s mission to save Heaven from Satan and those who wish to overthrow the throne. Clark Thompson (Falcone) gets thrown right into the middle of the war between Heaven and Hell.
Below we’ll investigate the music used in the show as the series uses a mixture of modern hits like “Sign of the Times” by Harry Styles and classic tunes such as “Tom Sawyer” by Rush.
