It’s all Heaven vs. Hell in the comedy series God’s Favorite Idiot, new to Netflix today. The series, created and written by Ben Falcone (Falcone also stars alongside wife and Academy Award-nominated actress Melissa McCarthy), follows an average guy who gets pulled into a war of epic proportions after being chosen by God to spread a message.

God’s Favorite Idiot ending: What was God’s message?
Throughout the show’s first season, Clark tries to figure out God’s message and how he’s supposed to spread it to the world. God eventually tells Clark that her message is this: everyone was right. All religions are valid as long as you are not using God’s name to hurt people, God is happy with all types of faith.
God’s Favorite Idiot ending: Is Chamuel really dead?
Satan says she killed Chamuel, but Frisbee claims he never saw Chamuel’s body. It sounds like there is a good chance that Chamuel is still alive.
God’s Favorite Idiot ending: What happens with the war between Heaven and Hell?
We don’t know yet. God’s Favorite Idiot initially received a 16-episode order, we’re supposed to get the latter half at a future date. I’m guessing we’ll see the resolution of this war in the next batch of episodes.
During the end of the first season, Satan ends up returning to Hell to try and take her place at the top and it sounds like the war is still ongoing, hence why God told Clark and Amily to leave because she needs Clark safe for later.
What happens during the God’s Favorite Idiot ending?
The final scene of God’s Favorite Idiot episode 8 shows Clark and Amily driving away from the hospital to escape, per God’s command. Clark wonders if maybe everything will be okay, but then we see a plague of locusts is following behind them.
