We’re ready for the next batch of original movies to come to Netflix. One movie, in particular, that’s on everyone’s radar is the upcoming action film Day Shift starring Jamie Foxx. We’ve been keeping track of every new piece of information released about the film.

Day Shift is helmed by J.J. Perry, making this his directorial debut. Tyler Tice wrote the original script before being revised by Shay Hatten. 87North Productions and Impossible Dream Entertainment produced the film. Foxx, Datari Turner, and Peter Baxter signed on as executive producers.

Initially, we predicted that the action film could come to Netflix this summer. It looks like our prediction was right because Netflix announced that Day Shift will be coming to Netflix on Aug. 12!

Day Shift synopsis

The story follows a hard-working father who just wants to provide a good life for his daughter, but his pool cleaning job is really just a front for his real job, hunting and killing vampires. This film is considered an action film, but there will be plenty of comedic elements, especially with the main lead being Jamie Foxx.
