A vampire series called First Kill will make its landing on Netflix on June 10 and you will not want to hold off on watching it when it drops. I promise you!

It’s been a while since we’ve seen a good vampire-centered series. Remember the time when vampire shows and movies were being released left and right? I mean, vampire content was truly taking over in the past. You had content like the Twilight film series, Vampire DiariesTrue Blood and The Originals. Other shows and movies coming out at the time just couldn’t compete.

Sadly, the hype surrounding vampire content died down, but now we just might see a re-emergence after First Kill comes out. If you’ve already seen the thrilling official trailer, you’re probably as pumped as us about the release. You also probably noticed that some of the scenes in the movie are pretty graphic.

So is First Kill kid-friendly? Is this a show you can watch with the entire family, or should it be saved for when you have time to yourself? We shared the parents guide and age rating for First Kill down below.

First Kill parents guide and age rating

The vampire series is rated TV-MA, which means the show is intended to be watched by mature audiences only. It may not be suitable for children ages 17 and under due to some of the content shown throughout the show. Are we surprised that First Kill was given a TV-MA age rating? Not really. As soon as we found out it was a vampire series, we knew the age rating had to be at least TV-14. Then, when we saw the trailer, we had an inkling the age rating could be TV-MA.

Here’s a look at the exciting official trailer below!

In the trailer, you can see many fighting scenes with the characters using various weapons, blood and gore, graphic violence, kissing scenes, and monstrous creatures. All of this content would be considered inappropriate for younger audiences.

So before you begin binge-watching the eight-episode first season of First Kill, make sure the kids are tucked in and ready for bed or occupied. Netflix has tons of kid movies and shows on its platform that will keep the kids’ attention until you’re done watching the show. I’m sure they’ll find something of interest.
