Netflix is adding 48 new movies and shows this week

A new week is here and a new month is starting and that means a ton of new movies and shows are being added to Netflix. They may not all be brand new but they may be new to you or classics that you want to watch again.

This week brings a new season of a Netflix game show, a bunch of movies from a popular franchise, and one of the most popular movies of all time.

One of the few Netflix Original shows coming to the streaming service this week is season 2 of Floor is Lava. The show features contestants who must get through an obstacle course and not touch the floor which happens to be filled with water that looks like lava. If they fall into the “lava,” they lose. It’s surprisingly entertaining for being inspired by a kids’ game we all used to play.

The new season hits Netflix on Friday, June 3, 2022.

With the newest Mission Impossible trailer coming out, you might be looking to watch the previous movies. Luckily, Netflix is adding the first, second, and fourth movies in the franchise. Mission Impossible, Mission Impossible II, and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol will all be available to stream on Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Titanic is also headed to Netflix this week on Wednesday, June 1. The James Cameron-directed film about the tragedy of the Titanic sinking used to be the highest-grossing movie of all time, but has been bumped to the third spot by Cameron’s Avatar and Avengers: Endgame.

If you’ve been living under a rock since 1997, the film stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as Jack and Kate, respectively, who come from very different worlds but find themselves in love. Unfortunately, their love is cut short when the ship runs into an iceberg and begins sinking into the Atlantic Ocean.

While the first movie is pretty good, whatever you do, don’t watch Titanic II. It will only disappoint you.
