Is Lenora Hills, California from Stranger Things season 4 a real place?

We’re only a day away from the release of Stranger Things season 4 volume 1, and we cannot wait for the epic binge session these seven new episodes are going to be! As we know from the trailer, our Hawkins crew will be split up in the new season as Jim Hopper (David Harbour) is now in Russia and the Byers have relocated to California. Because they believe Hopper died in the explosion at the Starcourt Mall in season 3, Joyce takes Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) in and she moves with the family across the country.

Spring Break is coming soon in season 4, which will be awesome because Eleven is reuniting with Mike (Finn Wolfhard). Also in California, we’ll get to meet a new character named Argyle (Eduardo Franco), a friend of Jonathan’s who works at a local place called Surfer Boy Pizza.

Is Lenora Hills a real place in California?

The town the Byers and Eleven move to is called Lenora Hills, California. Similar to Hawkins, Indiana, Lenora Hills is a fictional place. The characters attend Lenora Hills High School, which is also a fictional place.

Stranger Things didn’t even film in California for the Lenora Hills scenes, as they actually went out to New Mexico to shoot them. The name of the real-life high school is called Eldorado High School, which is located in Albuquerque. Other filming locations for season 4 include Atlanta, Georgia for the Hawkins scenes and Vilnius, Lithuania for the ones in Russia.
