Finally, Stranger Things season 4 has (almost!) arrived, and it’s going to make quite the impact. Even though fans have been waiting nearly three years for new episodes, the upcoming fourth season has been branded as the biggest — and longest — season of the series yet.
In the past three seasons, Stranger Things episodes have been mostly under an hour in length, with the average being around 50 minutes. The season 2 finale clocked in at an hour and two minutes, and the season 3 finale expanded the Battle of Starcourt to an hour and 18 minutes.
But with season 4, which will be split into two volumes, will boasts the longest episode running times in the series’ history. Each episode will be over an hour in length, while the seventh episode (and last of volume 1) will have the the first movie-length runtime.

After having promised season 4 to be “super-sized,” with longer episodes than any previous season, The Duffer Brothers kept their word. When Netflix revealed how many episodes would be in each volume, they also revealed the episode lengths.
While the exact lengths will be revealed when the episodes drop on May 27, they will clock in around or over 75 minutes. Meanwhile, episode 7 will be the longest episode of part 1.
