Are You The One? is such a fun reality show we’re not afraid to admit we enjoy, so we’re happy that season 6 was just added to Netflix earlier this month. That means that currently, AYTO? seasons 4 and 6 are available to watch on the streamer. If you’re new to the MTV show or a longtime fan wanting to rewatch, there’s no time like the present to binge.

We’ve kept up with many of the contestants of Are You The One?, seeing most of the perfect matches breaking up and entering new relationships. Heartbreaking news came in Jan. 2020 when it was announced that Are You The One? season 6 star Alexis Eddy passed away. She was only 23 years old.

Alexis had been open about her struggle with addiction, and in months before her death she shared that she was sober. In Sept. 2019, she posed in front of a treatment center, smiling from ear to ear about her recovery process.

Are You The One? season 6’s Alexis Eddy cause of death

As reported by People Magazine, Alexis suffered from cardiac arrest and was pronounced dead at the scene when the police arrived at her home. Her grandmother Carol Efaw spoke with Radar Online soon after her death and told the publication that “it was an OD.” A toxicology report was never shared with the public, so should take her grandmother’s account with a grain of salt.

“My son and daughter-in-law are devastated,” Alexis’ grandmother said at the time. “Alexis was a lost soul.”

When the tragic news of Alexis’ death hit the internet, multiple stars of Are You The One? reacted on social media. Alexis’ perfect match on the show, Anthony Martin, took to Instagram to share a photo of the two together and wrote:

"Woke up to some horrible news. Still can’t believe that you are gone. We had just talked a week ago and I never in my life thought that it would be our last conversation. You were such a passionate, humble, outgoing, loving person and it was such an honor to have met you and to be able to call you a friend. I love you so much Alexis and you will forever be missed. R.I.P. PM."

Are You The One? star Ethan Cohen said on Twitter that he spoke with Alexis the day before she died.

Rest in peace, Alexis Eddy. Truly gone too soon.
