Netflix is adding 17 new movies and shows this week

May is a big month for Netflix this year and now that we are in the second full week of the month, they are really starting to add some of their biggest new movies and shows to their lineup. That includes a new movie featuring two actors who played Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, a new series based on a popular book, and a new Netflix Original comedy.

One of the first big movies hitting the streaming service this week is Operation Mincemeat. The film takes place during WWII and follows two intelligence officers who use false papers and a corpse to try and deceive the German troops. The movie is based on real-life events and a book by Ben Macintyre.

The cast is packed with amazing actors including Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Ruby Bentall, Johnny Flynn, Jason Isaacs, and Penelope Wilton. The film comes to Netflix on Wednesday, May 11, 2022.

The Lincoln Lawyer is also headed to Netflix this week. The series is based on bestselling book series by Michael Connelly and follows Mickey Heller, a lawyer who works out of the back seat of his Lincoln Town Car. He will take just about any case he can get but that could end up getting him in a lot of trouble.

Netflix is adding Senior Year and Operation Mincemeat this week

The series stars Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Neve Campbell, Christopher Gorham, Jazz Raycole, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine, and Michael Graziadei. It hits Netflix on Friday, May 13.

This week also brings Rebel Wilson’s newest movie, Senior Year. After falling from a cheerleading pyramid and landing in a coma, a woman wakes up 20 years later to find that she didn’t become prom queen or any of the things she dreamed of.

Set on achieving the things she missed over the years, she re-enters high school and is determined to win prom queen. But first, she has to figure out how to be popular in this new age of teenagers.

Besides Rebel Wilson, Senior Year stars Justin Hartley, Alicia Silverstone, Chris Parnell, Angourie Rice, Sam Richardson, and Brandon Scott Jones. The movie will be released on Friday, May 13.
