Netflix has just released its complete summer 2022 movie slate and Love & Gelato was a part of the lineup. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming romance film below!

Love & Gelato is a film adaptation of a book titled the same name by New York Times bestselling author Jenna Evans Welch. You might know Welch from her other book Spells for Lost Things and her follow-ups to Love & Gelato.

Brandon Camp wrote and directed the feature film. He’s best known for writing and directing the Netflix film Benji. Camp, Davide Bertoni, Gennaro Formisano,  and Viola Prestieri all signed on as producers.

Production took place in Florence, Italy throughout June 2021. However, it’s unknown when filming wrapped. Now we have an official release date and so much more to share with you.

Love & Gelato release date

The romance film will make its way to Netflix on Wednesday, June 22, 2022. You can expect the movie to drop at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on its release date. It’s another late release, but we think you can manage to stay up late for one night.

Love & Gelato synopsis

The story follows a young woman named Lina who travels to Italy to fulfill her late mother’s last wish of getting to know her father. But once Lina makes it abroad, she finds herself swept up in a whirlwind of new experiences and discovers so much more than she expected.
