Netflix is adding 13 new movies and shows this week

A new week is here and Passover isn’t the only thing to celebrate. Netflix is also coming out with quite a few new movies and shows. This week includes a documentary about the fall of a popular clothing store, a long-awaited second season of a fan-favorite Netflix show, and a new Netflix Original series based on a graphic novel.

The week starts off with White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch on Tuesday, April 19, 2022. The documentary covers the fashion brand and how they participated in multiple forms of discrimination including sexism and racism. Who doesn’t like to see an evil company fail? It’s a reason to wake up in the morning if I’ve ever seen one.

The week continues with amazing content when season 2 of Russian Doll finally makes it to Netflix on Wednesday, April 20, 2022. The first season aired in February 2019 and season 2 was massively delayed due to the pandemic. But it’s finally back with Natasha Lyonne, Charlie Barnett, Greta Lee, and Rebecca Henderson.

The new season will start four years after what we saw in season 1 and instead of a time loop, time travel will be what the characters have to deal with. And the time machine? It’s the NYC subway of course!

Finishing out the week is Heartstopper which hits Netflix on Friday, April 22, 2022. The series is based on the graphic novel of the same name by Alice Oseman and is about two boys, Charlie and Nick, who form an unlikely friendship that soon becomes more.

Having read all four books in this series, I cannot wait to watch this. It’s bound to be the cutest show ever. And I know I’m not the only one excited about it! Hopefully, it gets the views Netflix is looking for because we need at least three more seasons.
