Can you believe Easter is already here!? This Friday is Good Friday followed by Easter on Sunday, April 17. We’re honoring the special time of year with a festive list of family-friendly Easter movies on Netflix. All of the films listed below are currently available on the streaming service and will be perfect to watch with your entire family over the weekend.

While there were a few Easter movies on Netflix, most of what is listed below are Easter-adjacent, meaning it might not actually be about the holiday but it features similar themes, bunnies, or just a wholesome vibe that will work for the holiday even if it’s not technically about Easter.

Easter movies on Netflix

Hop (2011)

Out of all the Easter movies on this list and on Netflix, Hop is definitely your best bet for a family-friendly movie to watch this weekend. It’s one of the only films that is actually centered around Easter.

The film’s premise revolves around a bunny named E.B. (Russell Brand) who lives on Easter Island where all the world’s Easter candy is made each year. E.B. is supposed to inherit the business from his dad (Gary Cole), but he would rather be a drummer.

Intent on accomplishing his musical dreams, E.B. flees Easter Island and heads for Los Angeles where he meets Fred O’Hare (James Marsden), an unemployed slacker who E.B. tricks into giving him shelter. Meanwhile, Carlos the Chick (Hank Azaria) plots a coup on the island to take over Easter.

Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway (2021)

Sensing a trend here involving rabbits and running away… Peter Rabbit 2 is a sequel to the 2018 movie, which isn’t currently available on Netflix. If you want to watch that one, you’ll need to head to a digital retailer like Amazon Prime or iTunes to rent/buy the film. That said, I’m pretty confident you can watch Peter Rabbit 2 without knowing the Peter Rabbit lore.

The second movie opens with Thomas (Domhnall Gleeson) and Bea’s (Rose Byrne) wedding. Peter Rabbit (James Corden) has finally come around to the idea of Bea becoming part of the family, at least, on the surface. Bea, Thomas and the rabbits have created a new family, but Peter struggles to restrain his mischievous antics.

One day he wanders out of the garden and ends up somewhere new, a place where people enjoy his mischief. But when his family comes looking for him, Peter has to decide what kind of bunny he wants to be. It’s not technically Easter-themed, but it’s a movie about a rabbit, so that seems pretty Easter-y to me.
