Rebel Ridge release predictions, cast, synopsis and more

We’ve finally heard news about Rebel Ridge after the movie took an 11-month hiatus from filming. Netflix has announced that production is due to start back up on April 25 in the U.S, with British actor Aaron Pierre set as the leading character.

Rebel Ridge has been in the works since 2019. Jeremy Saulnier was set to write and direct the thriller film with John Boyega cast as the lead. In 2020, more actors had been added to the cast lineup, and filming was slated to start in April. But filming was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and didn’t start until May 2021. A month later, Boyega dropped out of the film for family reasons, which caused filming to pause. In October 2021, the movie had found its new lead, Aaron Pierre.

Now it’s been revealed that production will restart on April 25, with Pierre and two additional actors added to the cast.

Filming is set to restart on April 25. It’s unknown how long filming will last, though. However, we think production will last for about four to five months. Post-production typically takes about six months. So we think the earliest we could see the thriller movie is early 2023. The chances of a 2022 release are slim to none. Who knows, maybe Netflix will be able to speed up the filmmaking process for a 2022 release. We’ll just have to wait and see.
