The Bubble has finally arrived on Netflix, and people can’t stop talking about the surprise celebrity cameos. One of the cameos many of us know from the X-Men film series and the other is a well-known singer.

The cameos were random, but a pleasant surprise. If you paid close attention to the official trailer for The Bubble, one of the cameos was actually included in the trailer. However, it’s kind of hard to make out his face and the clip is quick and short.

Now that we’ve got to see the full Netflix original movie, we can confirm who the surprise cameos are. So if you wish to remain spoiler-free, we suggest you take your exit now. Below, we shared the identities of the celebrity cameos.

Spoilers ahead for The Bubble!

Who makes a cameo in The Bubble?

One of the surprise cameos is none other than Golden Globe nominee James McAvoy! We’re talking about the actor who portrayed Professor Charles Xavier (Professor X) in the Marvel films X-Men: First Class, X-Men: Days of Future Past, X-Men: Apocalypse, Deadpool 2 and Dark Phoenix. We knew that cameos were possible in a movie about a group of actors trying to shoot a film, but a cameo from McAvoy was truly surprising.

The other cameo is Grammy award-winning singer and songwriter, Beck. You might know his songs “Heartland Feeling,” “Debra,” “Loser,” “Sissyneck,” and others.

Leslie Mann, who plays Laura Van Chance, spoke to Parade and said that many of the cameos in The Bubble are friends of Judd Apatow. That’s a fun fact to know and tell.

Who does James McAvoy play in The Bubble?

James seemingly plays himself in the film. While Carol tries to escape from the Cliff Beasts 6 set, James spots her and tells her to stop running. Carol ignores him and continues to run. James tackles her to the ground and the two have a conversation. The conversation involves James and Carol going back and forth about why Carol shouldn’t be running.

As they both get up from the ground, James tells Carol that he has a sore leg and that rest of his workday requires running. It’s Carol’s next remark that lets the viewers know that James isn’t playing a character. He’s playing himself. Carol says, “Aw! Somebody get Professor X his wheelchair!” Everyone knows James portrayed Professor X in several X-Men films.

The scene ends with Carol telling James that they went on a date in the past, but James doesn’t remember. So James pretends like he’s receiving a call to get out of the conversation. We would’ve liked to see more of James McAvoy in the comedy film, but I guess he served his purpose: to bring more laughter.

Who does Beck play in The Bubble?

Beck also plays himself in the comedy movie. Paula, the studio head, puts together a live stream concert for the Cliff Beasts 6 cast to keep them from leaving. Beck appears as virtual entertainment and performs “Ladies Night” by Kool & The Gang while the cast dances around.
