How to change language on Netflix

Wondering how to adjust the language setting on Netflix?

There is no denying that Netflix reigns supreme when it comes to the streaming wars, and it shows little signs of slowing down. The streamer has so much to offer its 200 million-plus subscribers around the world, and there is no shortage of exceptional content ready to stream at all times.

But for some, the streaming service can be a bit overwhelming, and it could very well be rough for some people to figure out all the bells and whistles. There are a lot of features and options viewers can utilize in order to better customize their Netflix experience.

Out of all the choices, the language setting can be a real big game-changer. The only way to truly enjoy the greatness that Netflix has on tap is to be able to understand what the heck is going on and making sure the right language is up and running, which is vital to the overall viewing experience.

How to change the language settings on Netflix

For the subscriber’s convenience, the streamer displays 5 to 7 options of the most relevant languages based on the user’s location. Before moving forward with the instructions, it should also be mentioned that not all languages are available, but there is a solid amount on the roster.

As far as how to change the language on the popular streaming service, according to the official Netflix website, the language setting is there to offer control for the user over the text that is exhibited on the screen when using the streamer and allows for the customization of subtitle and audio options. Below is a basic layout of the process the streamer has officially laid out.

Here is what Android users on a phone or tablet should do:

  1. In the Netflix app on the home screen, tap the Profile Icon or the More Icon which looks like three lines on top of each other.
  2. Select the Manage Profiles option
  3. Select the profile you would like to alter.
  4. Tap the Display Language option.
  5. Choose a Display Language and that choice will automatically save.

Here is what users on all other devices should do:

  1. When using a browser on a computer or mobile device sign in to Netflix.com
  2. Select Account.
  3. Then choose the profile you would like to edit.
  4. Pick the desired Language.
  5. Select the Display Language.
  6. Hit Save.

There is also a way to manipulate the preferred Audio & Subtitles Language or the Shows & Movie Languages.

For Android phones or tablets:

  1. In the Netflix app on the home screen, tap the Profile Icon or the More Icon which looks like three lines on top of each other.
  2. Select the Manage Profiles option
  3. Select the profile you would like to alter.
  4. Tap Audio & Subtitles Languages.
  5. Choose preferred languages from Audio & Subtitles Languages. The new language will save automatically.
