How Netflix saved All American
Another recent series from The CW, All American continues to relish in the Netflix bump. But the sports drama certainly was no ratings slouch since the day it premiered. A combination of critical acclaim and decent ratings helped new viewers want to check the series out on Netflix.
Of course, once All American hit Netflix, its fandom grew and more viewers tuned into the traditional weekly airings on The CW. However, the series received its biggest spike from the Netflix bump with its third season, which premiered to its highest ratings to date.
All American deservedly ranks as one of the most stable ratings performers for the network, and it’s also one of the most popular acquired series currently streaming on Netflix. When new episodes drop, the series is a force on the top 10 and an undeniable destination.
Although Netflix didn’t technically save All American in the literal sense, you can’t separate its performance on the streaming service from its growth, stability, and longevity. Streaming certainly helped take the series to the next level, but All American had that ability all on its own.
