Netflix will release a new movie, The Adam Project, on March 11. This movie is a time-traveling sci-fi flick starring Ryan Reynolds, Jennifer Garner and Mark Ruffalo, directed by Stranger Things‘ Shawn Levy.

Reynolds plays a time-traveling fighter pilot to crash lands in 2022 and meets up with his 12-year-old self. Garner plays his mother and Ruffalo, his late father. Be sure to check this one out, as it looks to be one of the biggest films for Netflix this year.

Netflix offers many Reynolds films, and you can watch Garner in Yes Day, Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and Llama Llama. The streamer also has many movies starring Ruffalo; check out the list below.

Mark Ruffalo movies on Netflix

Begin Again (2013)

The musical comedy Begin Again stars Ruffalo alongside Keira Knightley. Directed by John Carney (Modern Love, Once, Sing Street), this movie is a simple story that shows how people are connected by music.

Knightley plays Gretta, a singer-songwriter who has recently experienced heartbreak. When down and out music producer Dan Mulligan (Ruffalo) hears her music in a Lower East Side bar, the pair partner to create some fantastic music.

The movie also stars Hailee Steinfeld, Adam Levine, James Corden, Yasiin Bey, CeeLo Green and Catherine Keener.

Just Like Heaven (2005)

Based on the novel If Only It Were True by Marc Levy, Just Like Heaven is directed by Mark Waters (Mean Girls, Freaky Friday) and teams up  Reese Witherspoon, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Heder in a romantic comedy fantasy film.

David (Ruffalo) moves into a new apartment in San Francisco and discovers that the previous tenant, Elizabeth (Witherspoon), hasn’t vacated yet. And what is interesting about her is she’s a ghost. David eventually enlisted the help of a psychic (Heder) to find out what is going on.

This film has an amazing soundtrack using The Cure’s “Just Like Heaven” (1987) as the theme song.

In the Cut (2003)

In the Cut, the psychological thriller is directed by Jane Campion (The Power of the Dog). The film stars Meg Ryan, Mark Ruffalo and Jennifer Jason Leigh.

Ruffalo plays Detective James Malloy, who is investigating some gruesome murders in English teacher Frannie Avery’s (Ryan) neighborhood. The pair have an affair as more murders are committed in the community.

Thanks for Sharing (2012)

The dramedy Thanks for Sharing has an all-star lineup of actors, including  Mark Ruffalo, Tim Robbins, Gwyneth Paltrow, Josh Gad, Joely Richardson, Patrick Fugit, Carol Kane, Pink (credited as Alecia Moore), Michaela Watkins, Emily Meade and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

The story follows three people working through a 12-step process to recover from sexual addiction. Adam (Ruffalo) is an overachieving environmental consultant, Mike (Robbins), a married business owner and Neil (Gad), a wisecracking ER doctor, are all navigating life during different seasons. Their common bond is their addiction, and this movie follows the paths that lead them to create a family bond amidst the challenges they encounter.

Where the Wild Things Are (2009)

Based on Maurice Sendak’s 1963 children’s book of the same name, Where the Wild Things Are is a fantasy-adventure film directed by Spike Jonze. The film combines live-action and animatronic characters that see a young boy, Max, as he travels to an island where creatures known as the “Wild Things” live and declare him their king.

The live-action characters are portrayed by Max Records, Catherine Keener, Mark Ruffalo, Pepita Emmerichs and Steve Mouzakis. Voice talents for the movie include James Gandolfini, Paul Dano, Lauren Ambrose, Forest Whitaker, Catherine O’Hara and Chris Cooper.

The Adam Project (2022)

As mentioned above, The Adam Project is a brand new sci-fi film and a Netflix Original. Ruffalo portrays Adam’s late father, who gets the opportunity to reconnect with his son and make amends for past actions. Don’t miss this one!
