Is After Yang on Netflix?

The latest A24 movie After Yang was recently released, and many are curious where they can watch the film. This sci-fi drama has a stacked cast that includes Colin Farrell, Jodie Turner-Smith, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja, Haley Lu Richardson and The Umbrella Academy star Justin H. Min.

Written, directed and edited by South Korean filmmaker Kogonda, After Yang had its world premiere at Cannes in July 2021. The movie received positive attention from early viewers and critics. It was officially released to the general public on Friday, March 4.

The movie takes place in a world where people can purchase robots to function as live-in babysitters. When one of the robotic family members becomes unresponsive, a father and daughter must work together to save the robotic family member’s life.

So far, critics have responded favorably to the movie, and it has an 85% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, including a Certified Fresh seal of approval.

Is After Yang streaming on Netflix?

Unfortunately, no, the movie is not streaming on Netflix. A24 released the film, and they opted to put it on a different streaming service. It’s possible the movie could go to Netflix eventually, but don’t expect it anytime soon.

That said, there are a few Netflix titles currently streaming that you can watch that are similar to After Yang, including Is Love Enough? Sir, Fast Color, Paradise Hills and Synchronic.

Where to watch After Yang

If you want to watch After Yang, you have two options. You can either go see the movie in theaters or you can watch it on Showtime. You will need a Showtime subscription to watch. The film may not be at your local theater as it received a limited release.
