Dark anime Bastard!! is coming to Netflix in 2022! (Everything to know)

Anime fans get hyped because Netflix is letting us know ahead of time that it has some super awesome anime titles coming this year including the beloved dark-fantasy anime series, Bastard!!.

Yes, you read that right! The 1992 classic is being revived, which means you’ll get to see your beloved Dark Schneider in all his mystery and intensity very soon. But before you await your favorite white-haired character’s return, we want to tell you all about when you can expect this anime to hit your Netflix screens as well as what this anime is about.

Bastard!! release predictions

We did say 2022 was going to be epic! Netflix Anime took to their Twitter to not only officially let fans know what’s on the way but also give us an exclusive look at the official cover art for Bastard!!. See the announcement, here.

Although the exact release date is currently unknown, we predict that this series should come to your screens in the summer of 2022, especially considering the fact that other highly anticipated anime such as Tiger & Bunny 2 and Ultraman season 2 will release in the spring of this year.

Bastard!! synopsis

Following a disastrous attack on the Kingdom of Metallicana, legendary wizard Dark Schneider is called out of his slumber to take vengeance on the assailants. But no one, not even Dark, could have predicted how things would unfold in this war riddled with greed, jealousy, and unprecedented destruction.

"In Bastard!!, the Kingdom of Metallicana is attacked by the Four Lords of Havoc. This prompts the high priest to ask his daughter to awaken Dark Schneider, a wizard and former leader of the Riders, from within the body of 14-year-old Luche Renren.Bastard!!’s history is about sorcery, revenge, and other power struggles in a Dungeons & Dragons–like world. It is a dystopian world, where people need magic to survive against wild beasts, and evil monsters. There are four kingdoms, each one the protector of one of the four seals that keep the God of Destruction in stasis."

This intriguing story will be broken up into two cours, each with 12 episodes apiece. And if knowing you have 24 episodes of pure entertainment coming your way didn’t excite you, then this new teaser trailer is sure to do just that.

Tokyo Revengers production studio Linden Films have yet another hit on their hands as they are the ones to thank for this upcoming title along with Goblin Slayer director Takaharu Ozaki and Highschool of the Dead series composer Yousuke Kuroda.
