Madelyn Cline sets the record straight on her Outer Banks future (Is she leaving OBX?)

It’s been an interesting offseason for Outer Banks fans. While the show has been renewed for a third season, the very public breakout of its leads Madelyn Cline and Chase Stokes has caused some major questions and concerns among fans.

While there was initially speculation as to whether the breakup would create any ripples for their characters John B and Sarah in Outer Banks season 3, recent chatter on social media has led to increased speculation over whether Cline could be leaving the show after its upcoming third season.

The rumor has quickly been gaining traction leading many to question Cline about her future with the show. While she initially remained mum and chose not to address the rumors, Cline has since released a statement that seems to have confirmed her future on the show.

Fear not Outer Banks fans, Madelyn Cline is not leaving Outer Banks any time soon, at least if she has anything to say about it.

While rumors have recently emerged suggesting the upcoming third season of Outer Banks could be her last, Cline has set the record straight by dispelling the rumors and confirming she’ll continue to come back for as many seasons as the creative team will have her.

“So I’m getting asked if season 3 is my final season of OBX. I will come back for as many seasons as they will have me. I love my job and there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for it, and for everyone who has watched it,” Cline wrote in a since-deleted statement on Instagram confirming she is indeed not leaving the show and has no intentions of leaving the show in the near future. As Cline reminded fans in closing, “Not everything on the internet is true.”

It’s hard to know where the writers might choose to take her character in season 3 and beyond, they can rest at ease in knowing Cline is not actively looking to leave the show. Instead, she’s just as invested in seeing Sarah’s journey continue to unfold just as much as fans.
