Is Jamie Lynn Spears in Sweet Magnolias season 2?

Sweet Magnolias season 2 might be one of the most highly anticipated new releases of 2022. After the popular debut of the feel-good dramedy in 2020, fans have been looking forward to the next season, and they’re surely wondering whether Jamie Lynn Spears will be back as Noreen.

The series, which is based on the series of novels by Chesapeake Shores author Sherryl Woods, centers on a trio of lifelong best friends in the fictional South Carolina small town of Serenity. JoAnna Garcia Swisher, Brooke Elliott, and Heather Headley lead the ensemble cast.

Jamie Lynn Spears recurred in the first season as Noreen Fitzgerald, the pregnant girlfriend-turned-fiancée of Maddie’s (JoAnna Garcia Swisher) ex-husband Bill (Chris Klein). She’s not particularly welcome in town, in spite of how hard she tries to fit in.

Toward the end of the first season, Noreen decides to leave Serenity, which seemed to suggest Jamie Lynn Spears would be leaving the show. However, whether she’s in Serenity or not, Noreen still plays a large part in the series. Is she in Sweet Magnolias season 2?

Whether you love or love to hate Noreen, get ready for much more of her in Sweet Magnolias. Jamie Lynn Spears has been upped to a series regular for season 2 and will appear in most, if not all, of the second season’s 10 episodes.

During the first season, Spears was billed as a recurring “special guest star,” though she was technically already a series regular who was featured in most of the episodes. It’s great for fans to know that Noreen’s storyline won’t be left hanging in season 2.

Sweet Magnolias season 2 premieres on Netflix on Friday, Feb. 4, just ahead of but in time for the Valentine’s Day holiday. We can’t wait to see Maddie, Dana Sue, Helen, Noreen, and the whole Serenity crew back in action — and to find out the answer to THAT cliffhanger.
