Netflix will be adding an adult stop-motion animated anthology special titled The House to its library on Jan. 14, and it’s different, to say the least. If you’re curious about what this anthology is about, we’ll provide you with the official synopsis. So, keep reading to find out if this upcoming Netflix release will be something you’re interested in watching.

The House comes from award-winning Nexus Studios in London. It’s broken up into three stories that are unconnected, but all revolve around a single house. Each story is directed by different directors and has a new cast.

The voice cast includes talented actors such as Claudie Blakley, Susan Wokoma, Helena Bonham Carter, Paul Kaye, Dizzee Rascal, Matthew Goode, and many others.

The House might not be for everybody, but it could be for you. So before you make your decision, we want to make sure you know what this dark comedy is about. Here’s the official synopsis right below.

The House synopsis

Netflix describes this anthology as an eccentric dark comedy series, and I couldn’t agree more. There are talking mice and cats and dancing cockroaches. It doesn’t get any weirder than that.

Check out the official synopsis via Netflix below:

"The House is an eccentric dark comedy about a house and the three surreal tales of the individuals who made it their home."

We also have a breakdown of what each story is about provided by What’s on Netflix.

Story 1’s synopsis is below:

"Impoverished Raymond meets a mysterious benefactor who promises to restore both him and his family to their former status. The family soon learns that wants and desires may not always lead you where you expect."

Story 2:

"Set in the present day, a harassed property developer tries to make a quick sale from a renovation. However, some eerie unexpected guests have other plans and become the catalyst to a more personal transformation."

Story 3:

"Set in the near future, the house survives a hugely changed landscape. We meet Rosa, a young landlady determined to stay in her beloved crumbling house and restore it to its former glory. But Rosa’s unrealistic vision has blinded her to the inevitable change that is coming and to what matters most."
