Decoupled was released on Netflix on Dec. 17, 2021, and after binge-watching all eight episodes in one sitting, people are wondering about a Decoupled season 2. So will there be a new season of this Netflix original series?

Decoupled centers around a wealthy couple who decides to separate after being in a loveless marriage. But their decision to divorce brings their close friends and family relationship issues to light. R. Madhavan, Surveen Chawla, Sonia Rathee, Dilnaz Irani, Darren E. Scott, and Shrutee Choudhary star in the comedy series.

With how things ended in the first season, there’s definitely room for a second season. But has Netflix given the green light for a season 2? We share everything we know about a potential Decoupled season 2 right below.

How many seasons of Decoupled are there?

There is only one season of the comedy series, and it’s available to stream on Netflix. The first season consists of eight episodes with runtimes ranging from 25-36 minutes.

Will there be a Decoupled season 2?

It’s unclear at the moment. Netflix hasn’t renewed the show for a second season as of yet. The streamer typically makes its decision on a show’s fate within a month or so after a show’s release. We’re coming up on a month since Decoupled was released on Netflix with no renewal announcement. If we do not hear of a renewal in the next month or two, the comedy series is probably not coming back for a season 2.

Decoupled season 2 release date predictions

If the series is renewed soon, there’s a possibility we could see season 2 in 2022. Our best guess would be in late 2022. More specifically, in the month of December. Netflix is known for releasing new seasons of its original series a year apart. So a December release makes sense.

Netflix just needs to give the go-ahead so production can get started.

Decoupled season 2 synopsis

We do not have an official synopsis to share with you because the television series hasn’t been renewed yet. However, we have a good idea of what the second season could be about.

Season 1 ends with Shruti taking up a position that requires her to move to London, and she decides to take Rohini with her without telling Arya. When Arya finds out about what Shruti is doing, he’s devastated and is afraid that he’ll never get to see his daughter again.

Season 2 could continue where things left off. Will Shruti actually go through with moving to London with Rohini? Rohini can’t be okay with moving away and not seeing her dad. Will Arya move to London to be closer to Shruti and Rohini? These are all plot ideas that we could see unfold in a second season.
