The Woman in the House, which is actually titled The Woman in the House Across the Street from the Girl in the Window, is a dark comedy thriller about a heartbroken woman named Anna who lives a boring life doing the same things every day. That is until a handsome man and his daughter move in across the street from her. What started as harmless people watching quickly takes a turn for the worse when Anna witnesses a murder.

Is The Woman in the House a movie?

This upcoming Netflix new release is a limited series. On Jan. 28, eight episodes of this Netflix original will drop on the streamer. We can probably expect each episode to end with cliffhangers, which will lead to an epic season finale.

Honestly, I’m happy it’s a show instead of a movie. I think that with TV shows, there’s more of a buildup when it comes to the suspense. Unfortunately, the bad news is that this series will most likely not come back for a second season since Netflix ordered it as a miniseries.

Most miniseries are shows with just one season. The complete story is usually told by the end of the season. However, depending on how this show fares on Netflix when it premieres, there’s a slight chance we could see a The Woman in the House season 2. We’ll just have to wait and see.
