There's no denying that Netflix is the go-to streaming platform for binge-worthy content. However, browsing through its vast library can be quite overwhelming. That's why we always recommend that people check out the streaming giant's daily top 10 lists for movies and shows.
It’s a quick way to see what’s trending, what everyone is talking about, and what’s worth your time. Of course, not every show or movie on these lists will necessarily be your cup of tea, but the top 10 gives you a solid starting point.
As of right now, there's a survival thriller flick that has been making waves on the platform. In fact, it didn't take long at all for it to climb the charts and dominate conversations after being added to Netflix on Feb. 18. It's none other than the 2022 film, Fall.
It's currently ranked at the No. 2 spot on Netflix's top 10 movies list, so tons of people are streaming it. If you're in the mood for a nerve-wracking survival story that will have you gripping the edge of your seat from beginning to end, then you should add Fall to your watchlist right now!
Fall is the one thriller movie you should be watching on Netflix
2022 was a big year for film, with so many great movies hitting theaters, including Nope, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Talk to Me, and The Menu. That said, you likely skipped out on seeing a smaller-scale thriller like Fall during its theatrical run. That's okay, though! Thanks to its recent arrival on Netflix, you now have the chance to experience the survival thriller from the comfort of your own home.
Directed by Scott Mann from a screenplay he co-wrote with Jonathan Frank, Fall wastes no time throwing viewers into a nerve-shredding survival scenario that feels almost too real. The 2022 thriller stars Grace Caroline Currey as Becky and Virginia Gardner as her best friend Hunter, two adrenaline junkies whose latest climb turns into a waking nightmare.
After a tragic accident claims the life of Becky’s husband during a rock-climbing expedition, she spirals into grief, depression, and isolation. Nearly a year later, Hunter shows up with a bold plan to help her friend heal. That plan is to climb an abandoned 2,000-foot B-67 radio tower in the middle of the desert and scatter Becky's husband's ashes from the top.
To Hunter, she sees it as the perfect way for Becky to confront her fear and reclaim her life. To Becky, however, it’s terrifying. But with nothing left to lose and still drowning in grief, she agrees. What starts as a daring act of closure quickly turns into a nightmare neither of them could have prepared for when the ladder collapses on their way down the tower. The two friends then find themselves stranded nearly 2,000 feet above the ground with no safe way to descend.
Besides Currey and Gardner, the cast also includes Mason Gooding, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Julia Pace Mitchell, and Jasper Cole.
If you end up really enjoying Fall, you'll be glad to know that a sequel is in the works at Lionsgate. Unfortunately, there isn't an official release date for Fall 2 just yet. However, the movie is expected come out sometime in 2026. Hopefully, Netflix eventually acquires the streaming rights to the sequel. Of course, we'll let you know if that ever happens!
