Emily in Paris season 2 is finally available to stream on Netflix and the second season of Netflix’s Emmy-nominated comedy was definitely worth the wait!

Picking up right where season 1 left off, we’re quickly transported back to Paris as Emily Cooper (Lily Collins) continues her journeys in the City of Love, juggling her complicated personal and work lives.

While the season was another eventful and game-changing season for Emily, some might argue it was actually Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) who stole the show thanks to the meatier storylines the writers gave her this season — including one storyline that has left many questioning whether we might have seen the last of Savoir’s faithful leader.

Warning: Emily in Paris season 2 spoilers ahead. If you haven’t yet finished the second season of Emily in Paris, it might be time to say Au revoir for now to avoid spoilers.

In the second season of Emily in Paris, the writers do a fantastic job of peeling back Sylvie’s layers to reveal a whole new side of Savoir’s longtime boss — both in her professional and personal lives.

Right out of the gate, we’re hit with a game-changing revelation when it’s revealed that Sylvie is married to a charming restaurant owner and has been for some time. As we discover, though, their marriage is an unconventional one with the two repeatedly making a point to tell us that they haven’t lived with one another or been exclusive for years.

But we’re not here to talk about all of those juicy developments. No, we’re here to talk about Sylvie’s future on the show which seemed to be called into question heavily beginning in the seventh episode of the season.

Is Sylvie leaving Emily in Paris?

Early in episode 7, Madeline (Kate Walsh) re-enters the picture and it doesn’t take long for her to begin butting heads with Sylvie due to the opposing opinions they have regarding the promotion of a Peloton-esque fitness machine.

Following the exchange, Madeline decides to make a surprise trip to Paris where she quickly begins to stir the pot further upon looking into Savoir’s books. As she is quick to point out, Savoir is seriously undercharging Antoine (William Abadie) and Maison Lavaux which raises a red flag for Madeline.

Upon confronting Antoine and his wife about the fee rate at a work party, Madeline uncovers that the deal in place which has kept Maison Lavaux’s rate so low stemmed from an affair Sylvie had with him over the course of three years.

This leads Madeline to look into Savoir and Sylvie more in-depth due to her personal fear that Sylvie has been cooking the books. From there the two continue to butt heads regarding how to handle certain matters of business and in the season finale, things finally come to a head when Sylvie resigns effective immediately.

With Sylvie and the entire Savior office walking, it seems as though Sylvie’s time on the show had come to an end but then came the big twist of the finale!

Using money from her husband which was given to her in exchange for her shares in his restaurant, Sylvie is going to open up a new firm of her own with many of Savoir’s clients agreeing to come to the new firm.

So while Sylvie’s time at Savior has come to an end, fans can rest assured in knowing Sylvie won’t be going anywhere. In fact, she seems primed for an even bigger role in season 3 as she looks to start up her new firm — which will become direct competition to what’s left of Savior!
