Derry Girls season 3 is coming soon, and maybe even sooner than we expected!

Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan just shared a major update about the new season of the hit series.

In December 2021, Coughlan tweeted that the cast and crew wrapped production on Derry Girls season 3. Obviously, this is great news about the new season that has been majorly delayed because of the pandemic.

Derry Girls season 3 release date

The release date for Derry Girls season 3 has not been announced yet. It’s been so long since the second season was released in the spring of 2019. Well, the new season should be coming to Netflix in 2022.

We have to imagine that Derry Girls season 3 will be released on Netflix within the next couple of months. We haven’t heard the official word, but it looks like season 3 could be released in the UK this spring or early summer.

Then, it’d get added to Netflix internationally within four to six months from the season premiere, which would put the Netflix release date sometime around the end of 2022.

That’s the best we can do for the release date right now. We’ll let you know more about the release date when we find out.

We should learn a lot more about the new season as post-production gets going and we see more updates from the cast and creative team.

Unfortunately, Derry Girls season 3 is the final season of the hit series. It’s such a bummer the show is ending, but it’s time. Honestly, it’s just amazing they were able to get the third season done with all the problems because of the pandemic.
