Christmas is here! Hopefully, you all get all the gifts you want, none of the food is bad, and your Aunt Linda doesn’t ask you any weird questions. But if you need to get away from your family for a little bit, Netflix has a bunch of new movies and shows coming to their lineup this week. No one says you can’t hide in the bathroom and watch half an episode of The Witcher.

This week brings a new comedy special, a new season of a popular Netflix Original series, and a new Netflix Original movie from Adam McKay.

Jim Gaffigan has a new comedy special coming out on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2021. Jim Gaffigan: Comedy Monster features the comedian talking about the pandemic, his family, sunburns, and billionaires. It looks hilarious!

Emily in Paris is also coming back with its second season this week on Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021. The Emmy-nominated series follows Emily Cooper as she moves to Paris and tries to figure out romance, work, and life in her new home.

The show stars Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and Camille Razat.

This season will feature the Emily/Gabriel/Camille love triangle, focus a little more on the people Emily works with, and reveal more of everyone’s backstories.

Adam McKay’s latest Netflix movie Don’t Look Up is also headed to the streaming service this week on Friday, Dec. 24, 2021.

The film stars Jennifer Lawrence, Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Cate Blanchett, Rob Morgan, Jonah Hill, Mark Rylance, Tyler Perry, Timothée Chalamet, Ron Perlman, Melanie Lynskey, and Ariana Grande.

The movie follows two astronomers as they try to warn the world that a comet is about to hit Earth and destroy the planet and everyone on it. As you can imagine, no one really takes them seriously.

This week also brings Elite Short Stories for Samuel, Omar, and Patrick. Samuel and Omar’s stories will be available on Monday, Dec. 20 while Patrick’s will hit Netflix on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021.
