Being the Ricardos, a film based on the lives of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, debuted on select theater screens Dec. 10. The movie, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, follows the couple through a shaky period in their largely successful run of I Love Lucy and their status as Hollywood’s comedic darlings.

While Lucille (Nicole Kidman) and Desi (Javier Bardem) shine as Lucy and Ricky Ricardo, their actual marriage is holding on by a thread. Behind-the-scenes the couple are dealing with political accusations thrown against them regarding Lucille’s position on communism, her suspicions of his infidelity, and cultural taboos that crack the layers of perfection that their show projects.

The film covers the work the two do in the writers room, through their production company, and on the I Love Lucy sound stage. While Being the Ricardos only spans a week in the comedy legends’ lives, it’s a week that’s crucial to their livelihoods and standing in the business.

The movie is currently only available to watch in theaters, however, it’ll be moving to streaming soon. Here’s where you can watch Being the Ricardos online.
