HOME ALONE - Eight year old Kevin MacAllister (Macaulay Culkin) gets lost in the shuffle as his large, upper-middle class suburban family rushes to make a plane that will ferry them off to their Christmas vacation in France; Kevin, having been banished to an attic room as punishment, is subsequently forgotten. At first this is a dream come true, as for the first time in his young life he has no one to answer to but himself, and he takes full advantage of his newfound freedom, eating junk food and watching late-night horror flicks. But when the bumbling Wet Bandits Harry (Joe Pesci) and Marv (Daniel Stern) target his house for a robbery, Kevin must step up to defend his home; he sets a maze of booby traps so elaborate that only an eight year old imagination could concoct them. ‘Tis the season to watch your favorite holiday films! Directed by Chris Columbus and written by John Hughes, Home Alone is a classic Christmas movie. Everyone is wondering where to watch Home Alone for Christmas 2021.

The film stars Macaulay Culkin as eight-year-old Kevin McCallister, whose family is preparing to spend Christmas in Paris. Kevin faces ridicule from his older siblings and criticism from his parents, but circumstances improve when his family accidentally leaves him behind. Faced with newfound freedom, Kevin is initially elated, but he soon has to fend off a pair of burglars.

You might recognize Macaulay Culkin from My Girl, Ri¢hie Ri¢h, or Dollface. In 2021, he played a role on season 10 of American Horror Story. The actor received a Golden Globe nomination for his role in Home Alone.

The film also stars Joe Pesci, who you might recognize from Easy Money, Casino, The Irishman, A Bronx Tale, or Goodfellas. Another key cast member is Catherine O’Hara, who plays Kevin’s mother Kate. You will recognize Catherine O’Hara as the one and only Moira Rose from Schitt’s Creek.

The film has several sequels, including 2021’s Home Sweet Home Alone, although Home Alone 2: Lost in New York is the only one to feature most of the original cast reprising their roles.

Hopefully, that will change in the future, but it is rather unlikely that it will change.

You can find Home Alone, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, and Home Alone 3 on Disney+. However, Home Alone 3 does not focus on Kevin McCallister and his family, but rather a young boy Alex Pruitt who must fend off burglars while at home with a case of chickenpox.

Home Sweet Home Alone, the new movie of the franchise, is also available to stream on Disney+.
