Midnight Mass premiered on Netflix on Friday, Sept. 24.

Midnight Mass is easily one of the best Netflix shows of the year so far. For me, it’s right up there with Sex Education, You, Outer Banks, and Squid Game as the best Netflix shows of the year. It obviously comes down to preference. Overall, I liked the vibe of Sex Education season 3 and some of the others more than Midnight Mass, but it’s almost impossible to truly compare the two Netflix shows.

Midnight Mass tells the story of the people of Crockett Island, a remote island that’s truly a step back into the past. When a new priest comes to the island, mysterious and miraculous events begin to occur. Residents of Crockett Island try to make sense of what’s happening.

The new Netflix series was created by Mike Flanagan, who also created The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. You’ll recognize some of the cast members from both of those shows.

The cast of Midnight Mass is incredible. Hamish Linklater is going to win an Emmy for his role in the series. He’s so, so good.

You’re going to love this series if you are a fan of Flanagan and his other projects.
