Is Stepmom on Netflix? Where to watch the movie online

It’s the time of year where classic movie watching, whether holiday themed or not, is on most people’s minds as they settle into the wintry season. One such classic is Stepmom, the 1998 film starring Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon.

The two powerhouse actresses star opposite one another in a movie about a woman who must reconcile with her terminal cancer diagnosis as she prepares her children for life without her.

Sarandon and Roberts trade barbs as Jackie and Isabel, two women thrown together due to their shared connection to Luke Harrison (Ed Harris), Jackie’s ex-husband and Isabel’s fiancé.

As the movie progresses an unlikely bond forms between them due to Jackie’s worsening condition and the love they both have for Anna (Jena Malone) and Ben (Liam Aiken), Jackie and Luke’s children.

Stepmom is an emotional film that deals with accepting what can’t be changed, learning how to move forward in life no matter how limited your time left might be, dealing with changing family dynamics, and forming bonds that see you and your family through the toughest of times.

Stepmom is a recent addition to Netflix. The movie landed on the streamer on Dec. 1. It’s also available to stream on Prime Video for $3.99.
