The Christmas season is here which means most of us are hustling and bustling our way into the winter holidays as we bring the season’s spirit into our homes and workplaces.
Whether we’re shopping, sending off cards, or decorating there’s always something that needs to get done to make this time of year special. However, we still need to unwind like we normally would which means television is on our minds, specifically holiday themed shows.
Christmas movies are practically a dime a dozen; the Christmas series is a rare gem in comparison, at least when it comes to what’s on streaming. While you won’t have to parse through too much content, it’s still nice to have a few suggestions, hence our list of the five best Christmas shows on Netflix.

Blown Away: Christmas

The hot shop is fired up for the holidays in Blown Away: Christmas as contestants who participated in seasons 1 and 2 of Blown Away compete to win the top prize this go around. They’re all out for redemption and a chance to showcase their improved skills and design aesthetics in the Christmas themed challenges.
Dash and Lily
Seasons: 1 (8 episodes total)
When Lily leaves a red notebook in the stacks of The Strand Bookstore, she’s hoping to find a kindred spirit during the holiday season. What she gets is Dash, a teen who plans on bah humbugging his way through winter break until the dares he and Lily challenge each other to bring the kind of cheer he never thought he’d have during the holidays.
Elite Short Stories
Premiere date: Dec. 15 – Dec. 23
We’re cheating with this one as it hasn’t premiered yet, but the teen drama Elite is a Netflix original that scorches up the streamer whenever a new season premieres. The next installments of Elite Short Stories are all holiday themed as Caye tries to get over Phillipe with the help of Felipe, Samuel and Omar work to stop an eviction, and Patrick’s cabin stay takes a bad turn.
Elves
Seasons: 1 (6 episodes total)
Who doesn’t love a Christmas horror story especially one with a supernatural twist? Elves tells the story of a family on vacation who accidentally upset the delicate balance between the religious community on the island they’re visiting and the elves that also inhabit the land. The series is predicated on a fight for survival.
The Great British Baking Show: Holidays
Seasons: 4 (8 episodes total)
The Great British Baking Show is a favorite series for many a TV watcher, so it only stands to reason that the holiday specials should be on your binge list if you haven’t watched them yet. The latest season just dropped on Netflix for a bit of Christmas and New Year’s floury fun.
